Google has team up with Hasbro monopoly game company to build an online version of monopoly built on Google Maps API. This is going to be a very addictive online game which allows user to compete like a real monopoly game. You You start with 3 million Monopoly dollars, and can build not only hotels and houses but also football stadiums, castles and skyscrapers such as Downing Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. The buildings will be design in 3D. What’s cool is you will be playing on a real street.
On the 9th SEPTEMBER, a world of property empire building on an unimaginable scale will be launched! A live worldwide game of MONOPOLY using Google Maps as the game board. The goal is simple. Play to beat your friends and the world to become the richest property magnate in existence.
Own any street in the world. Build humble houses, crazy castles and stupendous skyscrapers to collect rent. Use MONOPOLY Chance Cards to sabotage your mates by building Hazards on their streets.
You will apparently be able to buy incredible amount of amazing new buildings and building types in the world. Release date will be on Wednesday, 9 September 2009. Check it out Monopoly City Streets

Can’t buy any street at my home town Sungai Petani, Kedah.
LOL. Why can’t buy? The game server is loading really slow. Always can’t view the street and lagging. My area is Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya. The street is full of houses and so expensive!
