Google New Search Interface Looks Familiar

Google just launched new search interface a few hours ago. What happen to the new search interface? It is awfully similar to Bing search interface. The new Google search interface seems to be a few milliseconds faster compare to existing design with added new features at the left menu. Navigation links at the left-handed menu is responding fast too. The left menu looks like a redundant navigation which is same as top menu.

What’s more amazing is the new powerful image color search features at the left menu. Notice that there is a colors picker at the left-hand menu when you are searching for images. You can now search for any images with that color. Example you want to look for green color images, just click the green color selection and google search will load appropriate green images on the screen. This is something very new to me. Besides that, you can also filter images by Face, Clip art, Photo, or Line drawing.

Now you can search for video from youtube, metacafe, livevideo and other sources. Search by length of the video and date range. The left menu navigation is same as the top but Google make it more noticeable. Before this, I am seldom click on the top menu unless I am really looking for something different.

I think it will take sometime for everyone to adapt to this new design. It is not easy to use but it has more new features added to enrich user experience. Do you like this new design?
