Have you ever think of the future iOS updates directly on your iPhone? Over the air iOS update could be a new feature on the next Apple iOS version. This new way of update is using 3G or WiFi and it will download the iOS into the phone itself. After download complete, it will run the installation automatically and patch the file.
It is a great concept idea and it could be better if the update is a smaller patch file instead of downloading the full iOS file size. Updating should only required new compress files and not everything included into the update. Downloading will become slow if every single update takes full size of iOS. 
Will you like the future Apple iOS to be like this? The concept looks very neat and it works like our computer running on windows. Windows Update is very convenient updating process for its user. You can apply certain fixes or patches to install and choose only the one you want to download. This is good way to minimize the download time for user. Auto-Update Apple iOS, anyone? It is in my wishlist now.
