Do Not Jailbreak Apple iOS 5.0.1

Apple will be sending the the 5.0.1 iOS update over the air update to everyone.  You can run the update on your device without having to open iTunes. This update patch will fix the following bug issues and added some enhancements:

  • Fixes bugs affecting battery life
  • Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
  • Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
  • Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPad 2
  • iPad
  • iPod touch (4th generation)
  • iPod touch (3rd generation)

This update also available on iTunes.

Jailbreak users should stay away from this iOS 5.0.1 update. The untethered for iOS 5.0 is going to release soon by Jailbreak developer for iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and other devices.

However, the recent update by Apple statement saying that the battery life issues still not resolve yet. The statement as below:

The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices,” the company said in a statement. “We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.
