A new security issue has been found Mac OS X Lion where local user can change the password of administrator account. It works extracting password hashes for users by entering command in Terminal. Although the command will give error but entering the same new password will force the target account password to be changed.

Temporary fix before Apple release a new patch to solve the issue:

1. Disable automatic log-in
2. Enable sleep and screensaver passwords
3. Disable Guest accounts
4. Manage users on the system
5. Setup restrictive environment for accounts in the system

Note: This problem happens only if your system is accessed by hacker who has the ability to log in and access the directory services with a tool that can modify the directory services settings.

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Researchers show that sitting more than 8 hours a day could affect our health and it is killing. Especially nowadays where most of the jobs require sitting in front of a desk, mac or PC, we can’t stay away from sitting during working hours. Whether we are iPhone developer, web developer, blogger, clerk or anyone having a job that require sitting long hours in office is killing in the long period.

There are things you can do to improve the situation like do some light exercises (stretching, walking, jumping) in 30 minutes. Take every opportunity to move around instead of sitting whole day on the chair. Besides that, a better sitting gesture also helps putting less strain on our back and shoulders.

Honestly, I sit more than 10 hours a day. It is really killing. Sometimes I will be going out for movies and other activities whenever possible as I know sitting all days not only affect our health but also our job productivity and mentality.
