Google Adsense launch a new beta version of adsense reporting with more insights and control over your adsense earning. It is completely redesigned and there are more data to show especially the graph. You get better insight of your clicks and earning metrics.

However, the ad impression show on the report seems misleading or incorrect. It shows that my total impression is 100% more than Google Analytics visits and page views. I was happy to see hike on the traffics I get(even though it may not be always accurate, I still like the numbers).

The report is not showing custom channel by default anymore. When you first login to the account and go to home page, it shows total earnings, today’s earning, and performance summary(AdSense for Content, AdSense for Feeds). Well, I like the total unpaid earnings show on the first page. It gives a good insight on how well my adsense is doing at the moment.

There are a lot more improvements with brings greater efficiency to webmaster. The new Google Adsense interface seems not really new. Some blogger who has beta invitation get a early feel on the interface design since March 2010. Today, it is still in beta but open to everyone to try the new interface. Earning from Adsense is difficult when your blog has low traffic and didn’t generate much impressions. The more traffic your blog has, the more earning you will make. Readers are your customers. Tips on How to Optimize Adsense

Adsense Section Targeting
You must know what is the best position and section to maximize your adsense earning. See the picture below and which part has more targeting from users

For long articles, it is better to put your adsense in the middle of the contents or where the contents end. For short articles, put your adsense just above the content.

Google has also has published a list of the highest performing ad sizes:
336—280 large rectangle
300—250 inline rectangle
160—600 wide skyscraper

Normally, I find the 336 x 280 ad type has the best performance among other types.

Use Text ads instead of Image ads
The payout for Text ads are often higher than Image ads. So, you should always display Text ads whenever possible to maximize your adsense profit. Another reason of using Text ads are better because Text ads have more options and choices for readers. You can customize the fonts, color, CSS and size of the ads also. Customize your adsense with CSS will make your ads even more attractive to readers.

Block low paying advertisers with Adsense Competitive Ads Filters
You can block advertisers that are paying low and increase eCPM of your Adsense account. Although you have add all the websites but it will not gurantee eCPM will be higher since there are more and more websites advertising their websites using Adwords including those low payout advertisers. Blocking certain advertisers is not recommended unless you saw suspicious advertisers appearing in your Adsense.

Upload good quality images and use better captions
Sometimes you will get traffic from Image search engines that can earn you more AdSense Revenue than regular web traffic. So, it is always a good practices to upload good quality images and use appropriate text title with alt tags to make sure that blog images rank good in Image Search results page.

Separate each of your adsense section with a channel
By separating your adsense into different channels, you will know which types of ads section will bring you more profits by placing them in a good user target section.

Start from basic
Don’t try to do everything on the page at once such as putting poll widget, stat counter, adsense, rating widget and other cool widget. Wait until there were more posts and topics on the page then only consider adding new widget to improve the blog.

Do some research
Write posts with different types of categories. This will be easier for user to search for the keyword they wanted to see when they arrive at the site.

Consider the reason of blogging
What is your reason of blogging? Many people blog for fun and about their life experiences but most of the bloggers have some similar reason such as  ”make money online” or “gain popularity”. Everyone can have their own reasons like helping people figuring out what they want like problem-solving, giving guidelines and tutorials.
