Ever wonder you can install Android OS into your iPhone? Someone prove it that your iPhone can support it! It is even support dual boot of both OS. I think this is very cool and it works like our windows computer where we can install multiple OS on a single computer. To install Android on iPhone, you will need to jailbreak it and enter some commands to make it install successfully. It is still too early for me to play around with Android OS since I still need some time to stick with my new iOS 4.0. There are a lot of iOS 4.0 features which I haven’t really known yet.

Since HTC Desire is an Android phone, iPhone also can be one of them. With this new breakthrough, iPhone users will be able to try out Android OS without needed to change their phone. Although I would like to try out, but I am still concern about the jailbreak OS where there will be many loopholes and security holes. Root password can be changed and is it mean it is secure already? In terms of reliability and security concern, original Apple OS did it well already.

I don’t mind to give it a try on Android OS, but at least not for now. Are you willing to install it on your iPhone now?

I wrote about HTC Legend vs iPhone 3GS in my previous post. In this post, I will write about HTC Desire and Legend. These two phones are best Android phone from HTC at the moment. One focus on design while another focus on horsepower of hardware. They are the same kind of phones but different outlook and design. Both have its advantages and disadvantages.

I have play around with HTC Desire. What I can said is, it is a solid and durable phone comparing to HTC Legend which is more slim and fragile feeling. Of course, there is bad thing about HTC Desire also. It is heavier than HTC Legend since everything are bigger also including the screen resolution. Both have smooth touch screen but I still think that the Android + UI Sense still unable to beat iPhone OS. No doubt iPhone OS come out earlier and simpler than Android OS but it doesn’t multitasking support like Android OS.

What are the Pros and Cons?

There are always pros and cons for every gadgets to compare. For HTC Desire and Legend, both hardware specification are different while HTC Desire having more horsepower than HTC Legend and that is why its body size also bigger than Legend. HTC Desire design is not as attractive as Legend and it does look like its cousin – Nexus One, with similar body color. The optical trackpad of Desire is different than Nexus One trackball that will glow. Desire’s trackpad is the one that found in Legend.

What’s made HTC Desire so desirable?

Most people are getting this durable smart phone over the HTC Legend. Compare by hardware specification, Legend is really can’t compete with Desire. Legend can only attract its buyer by its slim body, cool and aluminum unibody design. For people who want more than just a nice design phone, HTC Desire is the best choice if you can sacrifice the design part. The Snapdragon double processor speed is the main key point here. Desire market price is only a few buck higher than Legend.

How to choose between the two?

If you are a die hard fans for design phone or metallic aluminum look and you think functionality is not the most important of all, go for HTC Legend. Otherwise stick to HTC Desire as it can perform more multitasking jobs for you without worrying about the processor speed and Flash ROM memory. Both phones also support Flash Lite plugin but Desire will always have better performance.

Conclusion

Overall, both phones also have its own advantages and disadvantages. It really depends on what you want from the phones. Some people may prefer better hardware since it is more worth the money to buy instead of just buying its outlook design. But the fact is that HTC Legend is nice to hold on palm more than Desire. The aluminum body is very attractive. Choose what you need the most of all and make a conclusion from there.
