This is not a joke after the April Fool. The Yahoo Geocities service will no longer available for new registration and it will be closed later by this year. Existing customers still able to use the hosting service until they announced the exact date of closing.

I still remember my first personal page was hosted using Yahoo Geocities free hosting service. My personal page is a few of static pages about me and personal details. I am very happy with my first web page and let my friends know about it. I also use Geocities to host my college assignments but they deleted all my pages without my knowledge.

For those who don’t know what is Yahoo Geocities, a quick explanation can be found here.
